ESHS Biennial Conference 2018 in conjunction with the BSHS

 London, 14-17 September 2018, theme : Unity and Disunity


The next biennial conference of the European Society for the History of Science will be held in London from 14 to 17 September. The core days will be the Saturday and Sunday.

 The call for individual papers is now open until Feburary 28, 2018

 The meeting is being organised by the British Society for the History of Science, with the active collaboration of the Department of Science and Technology Studies of University College London and the Science Museum.

Dan David Prize

 Three Dan David Prizes of US$ 1 million each are annually awarded for achievements having an outstanding scientific, technological, cultural or social impact on our world. 

 Each year fields are chosen within the three Time Dimensions – Past, Present and Future. The past dimension for 2018 is the history of science.

 Call for proposals special issues of Centaurus for 2019 and 2020

Regularly Centaurus, the Official Journal of the European Society for the History of Science, publishes issues dedicated to a special theme. They are the result of an annual Call for Proposals. The new call is now published with a deadline in March 1, 2018

A European Network of young Scholars

The European Society for the History of Science is looking for young scholars willing to be part of a network of correspondents across and beyond Europe. We would like the network to be a proposing force helping the society to address the specific needs of young scholars accross Europe. Dedicated events will be organised during the London conference in this direction.

One of its essential functions is to collect information about events, news, fellowships, and job positions in the respective countries, regions and institutes.

Founded in 2003, the European Society for the History of Science promotes European cooperation in the fields of history of science, technology and medicine. Members of the ESHS are located throughout the world.
