Latest issue of Centaurus

As the Official Journal of the European Society for the History of Science, Centaurus is proud to dedicate this issue to the 15th anniversary of the Society. This issue contains individual articles on photonic technologies, on a Soviet Encyclopedia, on a geology textbook and on Chinese mathematics as well as an ESHS lecture on note taking and paperwork in histories of early modern science. To celebrate the ESHS 15th anniversary, we also have a special section on the ESHS origins and history written by past presidents of the Society. After some stage setting by the Editor of Centaurus, this text gives the presidents’ personal perspectives on the background of the ESHS, their involvement in the society, their vision for the future as well as the opportunities and challenges they see going forward.

A European Network of young Scholars

The European Society for the History of Science is looking for young scholars willing to be part of a network of correspondents across and beyond Europe. We would like the network to be a proposing force helping the society to address the specific needs of young scholars accross Europe. Dedicated events will be organised during the London conference in this direction.

One of its essential functions is to collect information about events, news, fellowships, and job positions in the respective countries, regions and institutes.

If you are interested in being part of it, please kindly contact us by following the steps described below to register.
By doing so you will enter in contact with the council of the ESHS and will be instructed concerning the functioning of the relevant website sections.
